Low Volume Production Service

Business often uses small volume production processing for having more flexibility and is able to respond quickly to the changes in the market.

The benefit of low volume production is to allow business more flexibility without invest too much before seeing how well a product will sell on the market.

Low volume production can avoid the committing of too much upfront investment.

We are experienced in low-volume production. As the producing process goes, customers might require a product redesign in order to meet the market needs.

Our low-volume production run can be as small as several dozens to hundreds.

Things You need to know about CNC machining from CNC prototyping to small volume production

It takes close communication between the designers and the frontline workers when it comes to a new product production plan. Proper design can make components easier to machine and reduce unnecessary cost. Base on years of our machining experiences, here are some suggestions before designing your product.

Make Your Design Simple If You Can

Use our secure PCI - compliant flat-rare card processing service or bring Try not to make the design that takes multiple time operation or special fixtures, avoiding process that will use a more expensive 5 axis machining or with function of tilt rotation. Avoid the surface treatment that takes a ball nose cutter that takes longer machining time.

Take The Machining Time into Consideration When it Comes to Tolerance

Unnecessary high and tight tolerance might take a second operation to fulfill the requirement. This will make the operation time much longer. Consult with the product manager to find out what is the best for the tolerance requirement.

Avoid Text on The Surface

Texts on the surface of a component look delicate and beautiful, but it will be at a very high cost. Each letter will need a micro cutting that takes long machining time. Raising texts should be avoided as well, other options like laser engraving or watermark are recommended.

Avoid Deep & Narrow Grooves or Small Hole Machining

Tools for these purposes usually are made of stiff and hard materials like tungsten carbine or high-speed steel. Even with the special material tools, they might distort during the machining process. The further the tools extent from the tool carrier, the easier tools will cause shivering that cause unsmooth marks or hard to meet the tolerance of the components. Thin-wall components are not recommended either. Wall thickness less than 0.8 mm will cause deformation and breaking through while machining.

Deep drilling may be hard

Drilling deep and small holes is one of the most difficult operations. This process is normally completed by drilling heads. Metal fragments often are generated as the holes getting deeper and deeper. If the deep holes are close to the diameter, machining will be very expensive.
